I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it!

Elf. Anyone? Anyone? I love that movie. Do you know what else I love? When I can salvage "waste" and make it into something super cute. I was busily sewing perfect little half square triangles for a project I am working on and I realized, after sewing several, that I didn't like the print combination. Sigh. So, I set the offending print aside and vowed to do something with the already made pieces at a later date.

A few nights later, Aaron and I were talking about what we are going to get Charlotte for her birthday (what can I say, I'm a planner). As we were talking about it, another little project popped into my head and it was going to get those orphan pieces into a lovely gift for my favorite little girl. I was so excited, I got up and put it together right then.

Charlotte will be getting this doll blanket, along with a baby buggy for her birthday. Shhh! I am pretty sure she doesn't read the blog, so don't spill the beans!

I just love it. I love the binding and the birdie with the little embroidery details. I am so happy with how it turned out.

  1. Nice job, momma! Nice mitered corners on the binding too, though you totally should have hand sewn it down on the back :).

    1. I hear you on the binding, but I needed it to be done. You know? I know you do.
